This series approaches self-topography through contact with rough surfaces — tree bark, stone, cave walls.
Paper is no longer a neutral support. It is pressed against matter that already carries marks, histories, and inscriptions. These surfaces precede paper. They function as earlier carriers of memory — holding traces of gestures, cuts, drawings, and signs.
The works follow this shift: from surface as background to surface as origin. Relief becomes structure. Texture becomes information. What is touched is already charged.
The paper objects do not reproduce these surfaces. They register pressure, resistance, and irregularity. Each imprint is partial, unstable, and dependent on the act of contact
